    I worked at Nettwerk full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    established independent record label of 30+years good for someone wanting to learn all areas of the business. generous benefits coverage for an indie.

    Cons

    More disclaimer than con, but be prepared to wear many hats and stretch a budget creatively for releases

    Advice to Management

    Good learning environment and senior leadership values its team and company growth

    Pros

    Great people. Great artists. Better than Majors at reacting to the business and making necessary changes. Good work/home life balance.

    Cons

    Owners are out of touch with what employees do. Supposed to be a big happy family but isn't. Poor decisions made that effect everyone.

    I worked at Nettwerk full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nettwerk was one of my favorite jobs. I blame the industry and economy for what happened in laying off many employees in the company around 2011. Times were tough, artists were hurting and the entire economy slowed. I wish it were different, the company is awesome to work for.

    Cons

    The IT department was slow to get things together for remote offices. The company didn't feel terribly connected outside your own office location. Great clients, but many left as they were attached to their managers who also left.

    Advice to Management

    Sign more talent, connect the offices better, groom your employees to stay loyal to Nettwerk for the long-term.

    I worked at Nettwerk full-time

    Pros

    Fast paced, technological progressive, passionate, lots of room to grow, working directly with artists, great managers, transparent financials, amazing office, lot of travel to fun places.

    Cons

    Unpaid overtime, working on weekends, lack of agile management structure, low pay, lots of turnover, feature creep, unclear long term goals, aggressive micromanagement.

    Advice to Management

    Love your company, your goals, your clients, your mission. A clearer management structure of expectations and quarterly goals with peer reviews is essential.

    I worked at Nettwerk full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    * Casual atmosphere
    * Employees are good people
    * Some decent bands
    * Excellent health benefits & generous time off

    Cons

    * Most of the artists are there because they couldn't find a better situation
    * The three owners are clueless and since it is a private company it's their way or the highway
    * Extremely high turnover
    * No real long-term growth

    I worked at Nettwerk full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -AWESOME people to work with. I worked in Hollywood and our people were amazing, but so were all of the other Nettwerkers from the other offices that I dealt with. Even the big bosses, Terry, Ric and Mark were so nice, and had such great personalities.
    -They only work with artists and on projects they believe in, which means every bit of your work is something that you can get behind.
    -Great Environment, everybody (except that one) is supportive of each other and willing to help each other out
    -Access to new music, to shows, and Film & TV showcases are always fun

    Cons

    -There was a particular person there whom was, quite possibly, the most difficult boss to ever worth for. He'd ask for ideas, from everyone, that he had no intention on considering, and always had his own plans in mind. It's as if he were just wasting time seeing if you would guess what he was thinking already. He would demean and disrespect people in from of their peers, and completely overreact and lash out when he didn't get his way. He clearly thought, that not only was he was smarter than everybody else, but that everybody else was stupid. He also had no idea what he was doing. ***Luckily though, this was rectified and he is now gone, but unfortunately so are many of the good people that couldn't handle him any longer.
    -The pay wasn't anything to write home about, but the benefits and the work made up for that.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you do.

    Pros

    flexible on times for starting

    Cons

    My time working for this firm was very disappointing. There was very little room for growth, staff did as they pleases ( which was very little work) senior staff members lacked any knowledge and the salary was non existent.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

    -Completely free form style of running a company - if you want to do it, no one is legitimately stopping you from taking the necessary steps.

    -It is what you make of it.

    -Good amount of time to work on personal projects or new ideas for current ones

    -Casual / laid back atmosphere

    Cons

    - Pay is borderline insulting (but not horrid considering what this industry pays now for indie music jobs)

    -Zero 'traditional' advancement or bonus / salary increase

    -Tedious / mundane work can become overwhelming and monotonous

    - Failing industry that still acts as if it's the mid 90's and everything's rich and groovy

    - Takes years to see reward for your efforts (if any) - which even then is a risk considering music is a service oriented industry based on other people performing long-term so you can make a living

    Advice to Management

    - Realize we work in music, it's supposed to be fun and exciting and make you want to come to work every day.

    - Understand that employees constantly have one foot out the door b/c they feel under valued.

    - This company has great potential, but it seems like everyone just gave up in the executive department.
