    Pros

Great hours, ridiculously smart people, great atmosphere, one big family. Other employees are very accessible and are always helpful and informative.

    Cons

Most people are entrenched. Implications are that the mobility is a little difficult; the workers are all experienced and are near end-career

    Advice to Management

Management seems to be moving the company in a strong upward direction. After recently leaving Lehman Brothers, the company has been working to maintain and expand its position.

I have been working at Neuberger Berman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Above average compensation, but great benefits, bonus etc.
    - Good work life balance.
    - Very smart people to work with.
    - Nice promotional track with no politics.
    - Management is good too.
    - Rapidly growing company with new client base increasing constantly

    Cons

Not any that I can think of. Tuition reimbursement at the subsidiary level is very low for the employees who wants to pursue graduate degrees. At the parent level it is very reasonable.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

    Pros

Great work life balance, people are really friendly and employees are given the opportunity to move around within different departments

    Cons

Salary maybe a little lower on average compared to other plays but this in turn is compensated by the great work life balance the company provides.

I worked at Neuberger Berman (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great Hours (40-45 hour week)
-Super smart and friendly people people
-Will learn a lot about investing and the industry
-Well known and respected name in the industry
-Great culture; interns are always invited to come to the company outings, which is nice.
-Really get the opportunity to connect with your intern class

    Cons

    -Clear back office/front office divide
-Seemed like there was a big NY bias, even though Chicago is a huge part of the company and the teams there perform way better. It was annoying to always have to video conference in for almost all the intern events...
-Pay was sort of below par. They would not let you work much overtime and the internship wasn't that long, so I guess that might have contributed a decent amount to this.
-Internship is way too short (I think they're going to change this though)

    Advice to Management

-Lessen the divide between NY/Chicago (have some more events/panels in Chicago?)
-Let interns work for more than 40 hours a week. Most analysts work 50-60, so it would be nice to actually get the full experience and see what it's like to be a full-time analyst. Even if we run out of work to do, being around in that atmosphere still teaches us a lot about the industry.
-Make it an 8-10 week internship; maybe do 1-2 weeks of general training so interns can better help and contribute to the team?
