I have been working at Neustar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

GREAT coworkers, good benefits, good office perks, profit share.

    Cons

Management is constantly changing, no formal training/onboarding program, no clear career paths, culture STEEPED in alcohol, HE works in the company interest, most department managers don't know much about the department they manage.

    Advice to Management

Stay long enough to develop the workforce, not use them as stepping stones to the next level of your career. Hire managers with experience in the area you hire them into, stop the favoritism.

    Pros

Great People, Great pay, Freedom to work from home with minimal time in the office, When you do work in the office you do not have privacy and barely your own office, cubicle or space other than a tiny slide out for pens, and such (reminds me of computer lab or lunch tables in high school)

    Cons

Never seem to hire permanent employees. (One person has been there 5 years and still is contract).

    Advice to Management

Invest in your contractors. They work hard and would like to be a part of your team events.

I have been working at Neustar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Neustar has a nice San Francisco office located within one mile of the 4th and King Caltrain station, good benefits, and fun people. When the new Transbay terminal, located a block away, is finished, the commute will be even easier.

    Cons

Neustar is still stuck in East Coast telecom business practices. Hopefully this will change after the upcoming split and the new Marketing Services company will adopt more Silicon Valley style investment and innovation.

    Advice to Management

Take the company private so that you can avoid micromanaging results quarter to quarter and make the needed investments and long-term decisions that are hampered by short-term focused stockholders.

I worked at Neustar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people who work hard and are, most of the time, good at their jobs. Flexible work schedule and accommodating requests. Great educational benefits.

    Cons

Management is out of touch and lacked a sense of direction once they lost the bid. The CEO, in particular, needs to go. Hook is in over her head.

    Advice to Management

Promote within and stop looking to outside parties to save the company. Listen to your employees and actually make a culture instead of creating one through meaningless words.

I worked at Neustar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, average pay, low stress, strong 401k match, mediocre ESPP (no lookback), good place to park until you find something better

    Cons

Bleak future, dysfunctional management, busy work and people trying to look busy, nepotism/cronyism, revolving door of executives and highly paid consultants

    Advice to Management

Imagine if the CIA infiltrated an organization to disrupt it from within. That's what it feels like to work at Neustar. Things happen in almost, but not entirely, the most inefficient way possible.
