I worked at Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great leadership! Friendly and fun work environment. Flexibility. Caring staff. Mission oriented.

    Cons

Nphy was experiencing rapid growth at the time of my departure, which presents its own set of challenges. As long as you are flexible and willing to adapt, this growth represents a great opportunity to grow and develop professionally.

    Advice to Management

Continue to increase awareness and capacity to battle the growing epidemic of youth homelessness in the valley. NPHY is positioned to serve a population that has fallen through the cracks and provides a real safety net for young people experiencing homelessness.

I have been working at Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The entire NPHY team is incredible, the Executive Director is truly passionate about the cause and works hard to bring change to our community, the success stories of the youth will inspire you on a daily basis, you'll find a family amongst management, volunteers, donors, and the youth.

    Cons

Get ready to work harder than you ever have (as should be expected when you enter the nonprofit world).

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. YOU all are changing the world!

    Pros

Leadership is "Top shelf", from executive management to administrative staff. The values of the organization most often are reflected in the staff and the clients.

    Cons

The worst aspect of the organization is actually due to the lack of resources in the area. Many individuals are positively impacted through the efforts of NPHY, but there never seems to be "enough".

    Pros

The staff consists of an energetic group of people. Has great leadership. Employees are energized and feel valued. Since new management has taken over, five of the twelve full-time positions have been filled by past employees wanting to return to NPHY. That's 42%!

    Cons

As with most smaller organizations that deal with homeless youth, The hours always set in stone.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I worked at Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They provide an unequaled service to the homeless youth of Nevada

    Cons

At the end of 2011, it was taken over by the WORST executive director of all time. He is a selfish jerk, who took the position for the perks & the status...but couldn't care less about the Youth, or the services the company was intended to provide

    Advice to Management

Find people who actually care about the cause!!
