    I worked at New Alternatives full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great for gaining child, family, supervision hours. Make your own schedule within scheduled work times. Flexible on occasional times needing to switch hours. Lady that does supervision is awesome. Relationship with teens. Loved my position with CAC and working with probation teens.

    Cons

    Management sucks. Lazy leadership. Too much paperwork. No raises in group Home jobs.

    You can come out of the experience with a deep knowledge about the population and crisis management experience.

    Cons

    Lowest pay of most non-profits, poor management, super stressful work environment, high turnover, low morale.

    The students are good overall, the campus is beautiful, and the Insurance is good

    Cons

    Management is awful, you hardly see the top ones, the drugs and alcohol on campus is out of control, severally understaffed, no effective discipline, staff are so unappreciated so turn over is high

    Model of the program is great These youth benefit from these programs from SPA, to TBS to THP+FC

    Cons

    Who hires staff and expects them to put in good work without their credentials and tools.I was hired no desk, no cell phone, no business cards, no printer. Glad I have a mouth but when you don't feel safe to approach your manager in the sense that he will help and approach another who is not your supervisor and they help you that says something about the Supervisor.
