I worked at New Community Corp part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

New Community Corporation is a family-oriented non-profit organization that puts children and parents first. I was happy to work at an organization that put the priorities of the communities first.

    Cons

Most lower-ranking employees are not getting paid well, but the higher-ranking employees are making annual salaries that seem to be out of their league. You can easily make $50,000/year with a BA/BS. Aside from that, there needs to be a huge overhaul in management. There are many people working on the executive side that need to retire for the sake of the company.

    Advice to Management

Regarding management, New Community Corporation needs to find better executives and managers. Bad management is one of the primary reasons why the non-profit is struggling today.

    Pros

Large company for a neighborhood non-profit- variety of services/roles, management very experienced in what they do, knowledgeable, coworkers generally help each other out, top supervisors accessible, overall well-run organization and good work/life balance (hours are good)

    Cons

Benefits not great-- not enough PTO (unless you're top management) and healthcare coverage is just OK.

  3. "Life Changing."
