I worked at New Frontier Media as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule; remote access; interesting content; independence.

    Cons

Lack of work; lack of communication.

    Advice to Management

Communication is elemental to a worker-employer relationship. Keep us in the loop. I shouldn't have to wait a full month to get information about access.

I worked at New Frontier Media full-time

    Pros

For a time, we had some really great people working there. Talented, passionate, and driven folks who cared about making our products and business great.

    Cons

Unfortunately, executive leadership squandered away any potential for success with their infighting, distractions, and petty vendettas.

    Advice to Management

Moot now since they sold, but my advice to the former execs there is to never manage another company with people in it. You're all terrible people who have no business affecting the lives of others.

I worked at New Frontier Media full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Adult Content is actually pretty interesting.

Some great insight into consumer behavior in cable VOD, great research staff.

    Nice location in north Boulder.

    Cons

Management infighting, nepotism, killed the company.

I hear that under the new ownership the company is like a slowly sinking ship.

    Advice to Management

Hire a few key leadership positions, open up the purse strings to attract and keep good employees.

I worked at New Frontier Media full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A wonderful environment to work in as your first gig. The employees and colleagues are a blast to work with. I especially enjoyed the company's ambitions to better their employees with additional education in the field.

    Cons

At the time thecompany was split into two separate teams working in two different facilities. A facility for the technical and one for the creative. The company was not cohesive as a whole and there was much tension between the two teams and made the company have a segregated feel to it.

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Gym access within the building

    Cons

    Very unprofessional management team
    Unprofessional behavior and environment
People whimsically get hired and fired
    Lack of structure and training
    Uneducated staff
A popularity contest among the staff for promotions
Never a follow through with what management says they'll do

    Advice to Management

Perhaps actual training to new employees would retain some of them for longer than a month. Management doesn't take credit for the lack of training new employees get and in turn blame them for mistakes. If proper training were provided, perhaps there would be fewer mistakes to begin with. Management is so involved with meeting their own deadlines and sucking up to their superiors that supporting their staff is an inconvenience to them.

    Pros

    Good pay and decent benfits

    Cons

Unprofessional work environment (unprofessional behavior of some workers)
Lack of proper training and involvement of management

    Advice to Management

Be more concerned about their employees and their day to day work struggles as well as understand their goals they are trying to accomplish long term, evaluate their performance and advise them of possible ways to improve and grow
