I worked at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity for a decent paycheck. Regular hours. Lots of company sponsored food outings and team building activities

    Cons

High Pressure sales environment. Enjoyed working for the company but since they are franchised there is no way to tell the owner not to yell and curse at his employees.

    Advice to Management

I understand you have to push people but there is a line where pushing people to success meets running them into the ground and being too aggressive with people can run them off.

    Pros

Great and fulfilling industry to work in. Helping people fulfill their goals as well as businesses achieving their goals. Good compensation for this type of industry being a small business.

    Cons

Management can be insensitive and sledgehammer type motivation, need to understand that people are their business and asset and take care of them as such.

    Advice to Management

Seek first to understand then seek to be understood. Decisions frequently made on emotion vs fact. The overall vision of the organization is sound though.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    1. Work with very smart, driven people
    2. Opportunity to learn and grow to use here or elsewhere
    3. Opportunity for very high income IF you are willing to learn/work hard/be good at it
    4. Opportunity to make a lot of money WHILE enhancing people's career opportunities

    Cons

    1. You actually need to work really hard to make a six figure income....shocking!
    2. Challenging work
    3. Requires minimum commitment of at least a year to be good

    Advice to Management

Senior Management should focus on growth and development and be patient. It does take a while to be good at this stuff, and support is necessary
