Decent pay for dispatchers compared to similar positions at other departments. Work 12 hr. shifts with no more than 3 days in a row and every other weekend off. Six weeks training at hire. Some room for advancement.
Cons
Atmosphere isn't always positive. Can be stressful on high radio traffic shifts.

The only pros I can think of are the benefits and pension..
Cons
They didn't train me AT ALL the first 4 months. I sat in my cubicle listening to music and doing crosswords... may sound great for some people but I come to work to do work... Management only cared about themselves and complained about the workload and would not train me and the 4 others who started the same time as me.

Pay, benefits, if your looking for a career.
Cons
Very uptight people to work with. Would not recommend this department. Many officers are horrible coworkers, also their recruitment process is a joke. Only apply if you want to be treated like a pesant. They act high and mighty but are frauds behind closed doors.
