    Pros

    NLPS is on its way to becoming a beacon for education in SECT through its magnet schools
    benefits are good

    Cons

    lack of developed leadership
    low pay for non-admin positions
    lack of opportunities for "climbing the ladder" in non-school buildings

    I worked at New London Public Schools as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Hires new interns quite often
    Pay is fine for entry-level

    Cons

    Unorganized IT department
    Overly political environment
    Unprofessional Management
    Extremely high turnover and low rate of job satisfaction from most employees dealt with
    IT management constantly throwing fits of rage at the drop of a hat, and physically breaking items, screaming, and a hostile work environment

    Advice to Management

    Try a new career path, perhaps IT is not for you

    Pros

    got job right out of school, hired me without any experience. Good benefits, including insurance and pension

    Cons

    Kids behavior was problematic. Parents are not very involved. Lots of discipline problems getting in the way of actual teaching.
