    Pros

Best group of people I have ever worked with at any company. Caring and genuine. It makes work enjoyable.

    Cons

Logistics is a tough environment! There are no easy jobs in logistics. It's an industry with lots of issues to resolve. This is no different here.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward, with improved processes and connection in the workplace.

If you want an easy supervisor job then apply here

    Cons

Apparently reviews posted here are not confidential. I was called into the office to explain recent postings here and accused of bad mouthing the company

    Advice to Management

Stop harassing the hard working employees that have to cover for the lazy ones who make all the mistakes and leave early

    Pros

There is an approvement in management.

    Cons

Difficult to work with employees. Many give attitudes. A lot of favoritism. No support. Not much core values being seen.

    Advice to Management

    Recongonize employees. Stop with favoritism.

I worked at New Penn Motor Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working at New Penn was a wonderful experience. Although there was a lot of change in the company in the time that I was employed, I found the challenge of adapting to new things very rewarding. In my role, I was able to meet and interact with employees in all locations and at various levels. I have to say that there were some exceptional people I had the pleasure of meeting along the way. Benefits were very good, too. In my specific department, I had a very supportive boss who allowed a lot of empowerment within the organization.

    Cons

Gossip in the corporate office and HR department was very uncomfortable for me. Also, some employees with low morale were a bit discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Bring in more people with positive attitudes to develop a more desirable company culture, constantly strive for improvements in training procedures, and develop a more professional process for HR related issues.

I have been working at New Penn Motor Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not too many pros to working here

    Cons

Poor communication from senior management, racial discrimination. Threats and intimidation from senior management constantly about termination. Poor attitudes and disgruntled front line management. Dock workers all working extended hours consistently because of poor senior management decisions. Lack of training on old antiquated computer systems. Hiring of personnel with known discrimination complaints filed against them. Berating of employees by senior management. Overall a terrible place to work, long hours for both front line supervisors and dock workers. No communication from senior management on a professional level. All communication handled thru secret channels. No concerns, I’ll be certainly terminated for some various reasons soon anyways. The training is non existent and poor as well.

    Advice to Management

Start at the top in the central Pa facility. Everyone knows that place is being run into the ground and the leadership or lack thereof is the reason. I’m sure you won’t do anything anyway but support senior management there even though they are completely incompetent. I’ve retained an attorney just in case for my claim of discrimination with labor relations.

    Pros

Decent hourly rate and casual atmosphere. Many of the non office employees are nice. 401k available. It’s always easy to find a parking place

    Cons

Favoritism of family members takes its toll emotionally and physically. Family members waste time texting each other to communicate privately (in presence of non-related biller, who is pressured to pick up their slack).

    Advice to Management

Immediate family members should never be considered for hire, it makes for an awkward work environment and major distraction to non-related worker. Consider changing and implementing nepotism policy. Frowning upon it isn’t working.

I worked at New Penn Motor Express full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you directly work with are great people and are very welcoming, comfortable team to work with. Hour long lunches

    Cons

There will be minimal training depending on the position, you will have the work load of two positions and expected to keep up with all of it.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to employees, try to learn what they actually do in a day, don’t just assume it is an easy task because it sounds that way. Sometimes a simple task can be 100 times more involved when you really look into it.
