    Pros

Decent benefits, the customers we deal with are very friendly and easy to get along with, the other employees are good people

    Cons

The pay is horrible, they take advantage of and use loyal hard working people, and treat employees with bad attitudes like they are gold

    Cons

No respect for employees, dont care about people. Management sucks, its either do what I say or else.

I worked at New Penn Motor Express full-time

    Pros

One of the few companies out there with great retirement benefits, ample opportunity for overtime pay, most of the people are really nice.

    Cons

Starting rate is a little low compared to some places, but the overtime and benefits basically make up for that.

I have been working at New Penn Motor Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits and not much more

    Cons

I have been working here for almost a year and management is awful. A manager who brags about going to the bar, hates answering the phones, plays on a cell phone and does not care how exhausted their employees are. I would give advice but no manager would care the numbers are what matters not our customers.

    Advice to Management

Remember the employees are the ones who help make this just barely hanging on. It's a 2.4 review don't you think it's time for a change.

    Pros

    Low supervision.
    401k.
    Somewhat flexible on hours.
    People there are usually cool.

    Cons

    Uncompetitive pay.
Work alone (No one to help if needed).
Poor employee coverage for time off.
    No motivation.
Goals are set to not be met.
Changes in policy are not commuicated.

    Advice to Management

Give your W&I employees a reason to improve and a chance to progress in the company. Some money would be nice too.

I have been working at New Penn Motor Express part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    decent co-workers, management is ok

    Cons

too heavy workload, start late in afternoon. why not take it back to starting at 3 instead of 5? truckers come back so late because they start so late.

    Advice to Management

I have left a previous review. It is getting better, slowly. However, you need more people working in the office. It is not fair or healthy for just a few people to type that much, especially with them being underpaid.

I worked at New Penn Motor Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some decent people who actually care about there job, then you have the milkers who are there just to get there 12 hours in. The office workers were friendly and terminal manager was a real decent guy. Pay was above industry standards.

    Cons

There many challenges. 1. Being of course working with transfers and I don't care what field you work in, they are always difficult and looking out to bury you, which was obvious in Reading. 2. Job details of the job were not stated in job description. You essentially walk around from the time you start at 4 till you are finished, which could be anywhere from 2 am to the latest I finished was 6 am. There is no break time, no lunch, straight walking on the concrete floor for at least 8 hours. Unrealistic goals set by management who have no idea what it takes to get done. We were having problems getting done at 11 pm and they sent a big boss down who said they could get the job done by 11pm, haha didn't happen and he looked like a deer in headlights because he couldn't figure it out. Since I left there have been several supervisors to leave due to lack of pay raises and 60 hour work weeks. Some of the supervisors there haven't gotten a pay raise in 8 years, that's absolutely ridiculous. After reading the other reviews a guy will try to counter the cons of this job, but if you ask someone who works there they will tell you straight how it is. I have no beef with New Penn, but the job honestly is for someone who can't get hired by anyone else and need a job ASAP, which I wish I would have known the actual job description first beofe I agreed to work there. By the way the healthcare is one of the worst for managers I have ever seen. I went to the doctor for a sinus infection and got a bill for $135, no joke, terrible.

    Advice to Management

What's the point seriously? No body takes it anyway since they all no what they are doing (sarcasm). The training is terrible as well, they expect you to get hired and work right away with no formal training. I cringe every time I think about a New Penn truck and the 9 months I wasted there.
