I worked at New York City Department of Education full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Extremely rewarding, opportunities for growth, challenging, organized, great pay, excellent benefits, unparalleled union

    Cons

Job can be overwhelming at times, not every school provides support necessary for students' and employees' success, too much work to be done outside of work hours

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the success of the students (provide more supplies, hire more staff, offer more paid staff development opportunities, stop focusing on enrollment count) as opposed to worrying about the budget
