    Positive Outlook

I worked at New York City Department of Education full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It is never boring. The UFT (United Federation of Teachers) offers so many helpful and professional services with a pension and retirement plans that are virtually unheard of these days.

    Cons

20% of time will be spent delivering genuine, meaningful instruction. The rest of the time will be spent dealing with logistics and paperwork that never seemed to stop piling up.

    Advice to Management

It's hard to criticize an organization that looks after the educational (and many times, behavioral, mental, and physical) well-being of over a million students.
