I have been working at New York New York Las Vegas Casino full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its definitely one of the best casinos to get started at in the Mgm corporation. You work in about 6 different stores so it never gets boring and youre either alone or with a co worker so you dont have to deal with management breathing down your neck.

    Cons

Management is a little lazy and the workers are mostly phillipino and very very rude. Theres no room to move up and the hours are all over the place unless youve been working there long.

    Advice to Management

You should really pay attention to your employees and how they are treated. There is a lot of work place bullying and disrespect going on and some employees are afraid to step up and say something because its group retaliation especially with the phillipinos.

I have been working at New York New York Las Vegas Casino full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are amazing. The company pays a lot to ensure the employees are taken care of. The health insurance is fantastic and they match in employee 401K plans.

    Cons

Poor communication at times. Not accepting of others option. Don't see things from the line employees point of view. Gives positions to other employees over those with more time in the company/department.

    Advice to Management

Upper management could stand to listen to their employees more and not just line employees but line managers as well.

MGM Resorts was a great company to work for. The benefits were amazing.

Casino industry is a 24-7/365 gig. Getting onto a day shift when in a 24 hour maned position is like having to wait for god to intervene.

    Advice to Management

    Rotating shifts every quarter.

    Pros

My Staff & Team were amazing!! We were able to accomplish many improvements to our Dept. & Operations. Loyal Staff worked well with me.

    Cons

MGM Corp. has a tendency to be low on the salary side... Most Mid Level Managers are paid well below the median income level for Las Vegas & they all work so very hard with very long hours.
