I have been working at New York State Assembly full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to meet every inch of what politics feels and look like. and networking at its finest. Albany is the best place to work..instead of the district offices..at least I missed workling in Albany...

    Cons

Low pay for a full time position... and sometimes at the District offices, its too chaotic among colleagues. I hate it in the District office.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay for full-time workers. And pay attention to what's going on in the NYC district offices.. some of the workers there are too volatile, loud and unprofessional. Then again, every office is different. But, Albany should find a way to address some of the issues in the D.O offices.

I have been working at New York State Assembly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Standard position. New York Legislature is very fast paced. I worked for the majority and it kept me busy being a part of their team

    Cons

Too slow at passing important legislation.

    Advice to Management

When you apply for this job find the new Assemblymembers and Senators because they're probably looking for staff. Or start and apply to be legal counsel for the Assembly.

Management needs to increase pay, evaluate the employees for tardiness, and their job performance.
