I have been working at New York State Psychiatric Institute part-time

    Pros

Institution prestige- If you have worked at this institution, it opens the door to a lot of opportunities and looks great to have on your resume.

    Cons

The feeling of being disposable. It is such a large research institution and is so competitive. Researchers know that there would someone willing to replace you and it informs the way that they treat you.

    Advice to Management

A little empathy goes a long way. A researcher interviewed me for another department. I was not hired, though the researcher gave me feedback. That was helpful.
