I have been working at New York & Company part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The environment at this store in Lynchburg is wonderful. A lot of the people are nice and everyone that works there is like a family. It's a team of all girls but there has never been any drama. The managers are extremely nice and layed back and hilarious. The best environment I've worked in (sounds over the top and false, but I've had tons of jobs and this is my favorite by far). If you like to crack jokes, and dance on the job and grow a relationship with your coworkers then this is the perfect place!

    Cons

The pay isn't the best, but everything else makes up for it which is exactly why I choose to stay.

    Advice to Management

Management is perfect, the managers at the Lynchburg location are like mothers

    Pros

The senior leaders who lead the brand invest in those whom are willing to invest in their selves and want to add to the ongoing success of the brand!!

We change our promations way to much! However at the end of the day we are a brand that caters to the everyday working women that is looking for a great quality at a awesome price point that dose not brake her bank.. So I guest it all worth it in the end.

    Advice to Management

inorder to work with the New York and Company brand you HAVE to love the sales floor, developing your team, hold your self and your team accountable and adapt to change very quickly.

    Pros

Good place to work. People are friendly, and office is easy to get to by bus or train or subway.

    Cons

Lots of turnover! There are some incompetent people in upper management positions and there is constantly a redirection of focus.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest talking to your employees more, rather than just in an employment interview or exit interview. Get to know what people think,be involved.
