    Pros

NewWave provides a better service than DSL in most of the communities it serves. The company is trying to make the network better. Benefits are good.

    Cons

This company frequently frustrates their customers by failing to keep them informed of changes to the service calls and installation times. Some business clients wait months to have new service set up. Management is doing just enough to keep the boat afloat while waiting to be sold.

    Advice to Management

Run the business as if you were going to be in business for the next 50 years. Show that you value your clients. Drop the "just waiting to be sold" mindset that keeps you from moving forward.

I worked at NewWave Communications (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that you work with are great and want to help the customer.

    Cons

Too small of a company. Always actively looking to sell the business to another carrier which makes the future uneasy even with the "L-TIP letter" (lump sum payment if they sell). If they do get close to selling then they will drive instant revenue by laying off employees so you might not even see the "L-TIP money". Proceed with caution.

    Advice to Management

When a system just gets upgraded to Docsis 3 there needs to be a little time for the business in that system to get wind of it. Allow more time for the sales to come and they will come.

I worked at NewWave Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, company vehicle, training, overtime. Fuel cards for vans. Company paid van maintenance, work phone. Commission, IF you can actually have time to be a salesman on top of a install tech.

    Cons

A lot of overtime, then bosses complain about amount of OT, customer related trouble calls end up being turned into the techs fault. Averaged 12-15 jobs a day most crammed into 8-12 or 1-5 time frames with more added in open time frames that made 15+ jobs a day. Jobs you said would take 2-3 hours are given 30min to do. If you need help, dispatchers don't listen, so you have to run a drop across an active road or call PD to shut it down temporarily. Longest day I had there was 18 hours, no break or lunch, started at 7am finished after midnight that night plus a drive home of over an hour.

    Advice to Management

Worked 10+ months here and it got worse the longer I was there. My advice to management is help your guys out when they're slammed, don't just sit behind your desk then go home at 5 when they have 3-4 hours of work left. Be leaders not just bosses, teamwork goes a long way.

I worked at NewWave Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Well they were very flexiable with the hours and for a small company the pay was not bad. Incentive was great and promotions was a motivator for most of the employees. They provided a lot of day time hours which was great for someone with kids. The office sestting was private we were all in our own cubicals which was great. The bosses always treated us if we made quota which is always nice which made us work extra hard. Maybe take all the top salers out to eat lunch or something. over all it was not a bad place to work.

    Cons

Making our sales for the day and pushing for more for better incentive pay.

    Advice to Management

Advise all leaders in the cooperation to not yell at the employees especially if they are on the phone with customers it sets a bad example and have them remember that everyone is grown that work in the facility so a private talk with the employees would be better and plus it will make the work hard at what they do wrong and fix the problem and help with the recruitment of other employment when needed. worker will last a very long time concidering call centers have a high turn over.

    Pros

The company has made massive network improvements, providing employees with a product they can be proud to promote. Doubled Internet speeds across over 90% of the company in just one year.

    Cons

The service areas are spread out a bit from a geographic perspective and technical crews can be taxed a bit.

    Advice to Management

Management has done a fantastic job of bringing a conglomeration of several purchased systems together and are approaching consistent practices across the company. This has been a work in progress, but is definitely improving.
