I worked at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Great diversity of patients and staff. Great learning opportunities.

    Cons

Dangerously high patient to nurse ratios. Management is unapproachable. I have seen management act vindictive towards employees who have given their resignation. There is a huge lack of teamwork because everyone is too busy and overwhelmed. Employee turn over is high. Majority of nurses have been there 6 months or less. I would never bring a loved one here.

    Advice to Management

Actually take the time to listen to and consider what your employees are saying. Better staffing ratios would mean less room for error and more room for better patient satisfaction scores.
