I worked at Newedge full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very fast paced, the best tech

    Cons

Treated workers like slaves. I once called every night at 2 am for an issue I had already explained to the user was not inside my system and had directed them to who could help.

    Advice to Management

Better 24/7 support that does not leverage one person to do all support. Terrible work personal life balance.

    Pros

Very fair environment. Treat brokers with respect. Commission payouts are good and they have a good balance sheet.

    Cons

There is no vision for the business. Many mixed messages about what they want to be. Business has been folded back into the parent company, soc gen.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a clear vision. Decide what you want to be and move forward.

    Pros

Great group of people to work with. CEO was a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Management was not that great. Huge desk turn over - not a stable environment - eventually bought by Soc Gen.

    Advice to Management

Understand your employees' values and nurture it.

    Advice to Management

Provide a clearer picture to employees of advancement opportunities exist within the organization, and what they can do to achieve them.

    Pros

It is a very transparent place. You know what you are getting into. Savvy people around you. Socgen integration iffy. Except prime services, where good.

    Cons

Eat what you kill environment. Uncertain if there is career growth. Challenging business model

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Great place for entrepreneur spirit. A much broader experience than a person would achieve at a top 10 bank. Worked with cutting edge technologies with a culture willing to embrace calculated risk.

    Cons

The French tend to get preferential treatment and like to complain. Culturally heavy on approvals and presentations to gain the approvals. It lacked vision of what to become after FCM model failed.
