I have been working at Newgen Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of potential growth areas - mostly unrealized
Sometimes windows open up to meaningfully contribute - usually takes effort from the individual to contribute because of slack culture

    Cons

Lack of relevant leadership and mostly focused on the wrong priorities - senior org is optimized to manage budgets/spend, and they are programmed to control expenditure, which might not be the right focus if you are trying to grow a market like the US.
The above point helps understand the complete lack of efficient processes -
savings in time and scalability are not prioritized, human controls from Delhi are.
Terrible benefits - no retirement, no matching, no public transport subsidies. Recognition is sketchy and dependent on brown-nosing and 'face-time' investments. Don't expect timely feedback for your efforts, some leaders are good and you have to be lucky to be noticed when you are trying to make a difference.
Caste-ism (yes it exists!), favoritism, nepotism, 'family', connections.
It is hard to excel, harder when the culture accepts mediocrity (just check out the public website and other collateral for starters), and is scared of any change or suspicious of people trying their best.

    Advice to Management

Big mismatch between big words and actions. Most people see through it.
Instill professionalism, and yes that starts with you!
Smart clients in the US have options and are not going to accept mediocre to shabby performance. 'Personal touches' can only go so far.

    Pros

    If you are yes men.

    Cons

Not life- work balance, not 401K, no benefits, no PTO policy, All resources are India, HR, marketing, technical etc, with very low quality. If you are not Indian they just no put as priority and involved you at all, & speaking their languages so you won't be able to understand. Very disrespectful environment, if you have an opinion the management literally raised their voice at you since they considered themselves as an experts, the approach of Americas market is terrible since they think is the same as India. No strategic whatsoever, cero perception of the market.

    Advice to Management

Hire a resources in USA, listen your team, share & involved the information.

    Pros

You'll get the meet bright people around the world who will connect with you on a professional and personal level. The company is trying really hard to differentiate from BPM players in the market. So you will be on the front on how the company is solving highly critical business problems in Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare and other verticals. A good company to learn about solutions instead of products.

    Cons

There is a true lack of management. Everyone has different opinion and everyone considers themselves experts in everything. It's highly confusing as every 2 months the strategy seems to shift. There is no team and zero encouragement. I wasn't able to identify quickly that the employee turnover is high. It is expected to be 2, 3 or sometimes 4 weeks on the road at time, work on weekends, holidays etc. No work/life balance. Pay is not that good and there is no 401K. Finally, there is little respect to employees. Expenses can paid after 3 months of submitting them. You could travel to a client and have no hotel booked in the middle of the night. You can check out of an hotel to find out the it hasn't being paid. Highly disrespectful. The offboarding process is a complete nightmare.

    Advice to Management

I don't feel the company will change in the short term. Management knows about all these problems. It would behoove them to take action.

    Pros

I wish I could state some. There are a few people who get it and are decent the rest not so much. Occasionally you get paid on time

    Cons

Product is behind the rest of the market. No innovation. Haven't a clue how to sell in the States. No resources in the US full time.SEs Services, Marketing etc are in India and you have to work with their schedules . Unless you are "part of the family" you are treated as just a worker bee (especially if you are a female). No full benefits. Works the fiscal year v. calendar year to keep from paying out commissions. Make a lot of promises and do not deliver

    Advice to Management

Listen to suggestions from your seasoned reps. Hire actual resources in the states. Update the product and the approach to sales in the states. Oh who am I kidding, they wouldn't take any advice if it were given to them. They are the experts on everything.
