I have been working at Newly Weds Foods (More than a year)

    Pros

no one pestering you by watching your every move ...no "over the shoulder" hassles

    Cons

they hire crack heads and idiots to be "machine watchers" not "operators.

    Advice to Management

have every new hire prospect take the mechanical/electrical aptitude test ..... if they cannot change their own forktruck battery or find the correct size wrench or allen key to fit the bolt/screw ...they do not need to remain as a burden for other people to have to teach them basic hand tool usage.

    Pros

If you put in the work they take good care of you. Good work life balance too. Annual Christmas bonuses are a nice plus as well.

    Cons

As with any large company change can be slow. Professional development could use a little retooling. Requires a lot of self direction, but I suppose if you want to improve that's how it works.

    Pros

Team leads are great (not ref. To supervisors)

    Cons

HR incompetent of providing information on employee inquiries, they have no answers and can get none from corporate. When going on my own straight to corporate, I can see why local HR has issues, as Corporate can't answer a call with professionalism (identifying themself and speaking polite). Supervisors are not people friendly and far from mature and professional, greedy for a bonus fits best.

    Advice to Management

Clean up HR by giving them reviews after proper training. Bring back the see union!!!! Have supervisors trained to be leaders not someone who degrades employees.
