I worked at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team, big company name. Vacation time and sick pay is pretty standard but at least they offer it. some perks, from time to time free tickets would be given out to employees for game like the Knicks or Yankees, etc.

    Cons

There is no work-life balance. There is no matching 401k's and benefits are not great. There is no growth opportunity within the company. You get hired at a level and you will stay at the level. There is a lot of work but not enough staff. Pay is very below market price plus long hours (advice due the math may not be worth it).

    Advice to Management

Implement policies that are realistic, spend more time with the staff, promote from within, invest in your employees. Cross train employees, there is no reason why such a big company only has one person for each position.

    Pros

A large professional company focused on the real estate community for leasing, managing, finances, and asset management.

    Cons

Company requires that each employee has a wide spectrum of knowledge and the ability to handle the responsibility without proper administrative assistance.

    Advice to Management

Look to the market, not internally, and place emphasis on the tenant and landlord expectations.

I worked at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank full-time

    Pros

Lots of freedom and ability to be autonomous in your work. No set hours for brokers. No ceiling. Really nice people, from the junior brokers up to seniors/execs, admins and office support. Everyone was always willing to help. A good environment to run your own business within a larger company that offers resources and a well-known name.

Lots of broker and networking events if you like that stuff. If you utilize it, your business will benefit and you'll make some great connections- whether it be friends or someone you could potentially close business with.

    Cons

It doesn't matter how much of a super star you are, it will take you 2 years to ramp up. Deals take a while to close. Get used to hearing no and prepare to grow some thick skin.
