    Pros

95 year old company, pay is very good, benefits are near the top of the market (pension, 401k with match, solid medical plans, generous PTO, two paid off days for volunteer work annually, etc.)

    Cons

job stability has been an issue with the commodity price swings over the past 4 years

I worked at Newmont Mining full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Newmont has good benefits, they also have flexible work life balance depending on what department you might work in

    Cons

It's hard to move around or move up in the organization. There are a lot of glass ceilings. It's dependent upon your manager if you are able to move around or become promoted.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. There's a lot of wonderful talent who know the industry, which is overlooked and a very important part of the job is to know and understand gold mining.

I have been working at Newmont Mining full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great salary and benefits; flexible work arrangements; global opportunities.

    Cons

Management disconnected from the business; too many new programs at once; top heavy management structure; "do more with less" approach

    Advice to Management

Focus the critical few programs and activities and ensure that the organization is staffed at the "right" levels; pay less attention to the number of employees in a role and more attention to whether employees are doing the right role.

I worked at Newmont Mining full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great people, great team feeling

    Cons

You never feel safe in your job here. There were rounds of layoffs for the 3 years straight I worked there. Everyone was always fearful.

    Advice to Management

Give open and honest information to employees. If you know change is coming, communicate effectively.

    Pros

Getting ready to go somewhere and doing a great time because am still interested to see a bright future reference source

    Cons

The only thing that you can get it right now and then the next few weeks back to the next couple

    Advice to Management

I worked at Newmont Mining full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great pay, great benefits, and good people for the most part

    Cons

top heavy management throughout. IT CIO with two senior directors only care about what's in it for them. Speak about being open and transparent while they each would derail the other if it benefited them.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Newmont Mining (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, and benefits, was a great IT team

    Cons

Current ELT ruined the "employee first" concept that once made it a great place to work. New CEO came in about 1 year after I started and began the layoffs, from then on it happened about every 6 months just under a different corporate buzz word. The last one used was "Full potential" which outsourced all of Denver operations to India. Leadership does not care about the individual!
