I have been working at Newport full-time

    Pros

Newport has a very traditional working environment. The quiet atmosphere allows all employees to stay focused on work with little distractions

    Cons

Would prefer a less traditional working environment to promote employee engagement and boost office morale.

    Pros

Great Benefits package, great company to work for

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Small office, friendly co workers, relatively flexible hours, lax dress code, good location close to freeway, provides healthcare benefits but passes on cost to employee

    Cons

Management does not seem to know what people are doing or responsible for. Lack of communication between senior and asset managers, senior manager likes to scream and make emotional rants at certain individuals, pay is low and benefits minimal. Work load high. A confused place to work.

    Advice to Management

Management is not willing to develop people and appears not to value them. There is no culture or value other than to make senior management more money. Lots of turnover is not a good thing maybe problem with them

    Pros

I work at the corporate office and all of the managers have an open door policy so it very easy to speak to them when it's necessary.

    Cons

Different groups seem to act very independent and collaboration between groups don't happen.

    Advice to Management

The utilization of employees and resources needs to be improved. Newport has great employees but the company doesn't seem to invest in the correct sides of the business to help it grow.

    Pros

Great People, hard working, focused. Autonomy provided in my role. I have ability to manage my work and adjust as need be.

    Cons

sames problems arise for years on end. No solutions. Mgmt seems to have an inability to make tough decisions and drive them through execution. Mgmt doesn't pay attention to the details and are often surprised by basics. Dysfunction seems to rule the culture

    Advice to Management

catchy slogans and acronyms are not a strategy. Easy to see through cheerleading and lack of action.
