    Pros

Great colleagues, not sure what else to say... Was not a pleasant experience at this company. they really jaded me as a person.

    Cons

Too many hidden agendas. Management plays favorites... l I'll like I said before, it made me very jaded...

    Advice to Management

Just be honest, treat your employees better... If they work their hardest for you, PAY them ehat they are worth! Quarterly revenue means nothing if you have disgruntled workers who won't produce.

I worked at Newport full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management has no idea what is going on. Because of this, people are able to take 2 hour breaks. People don't do anything. It makes for a very stress free work environment.

    Cons

If you work hard, management won't do anything about it. Salaries are terrible unless you get lucky. The difference in hourly salaries between employees of the same title can vary by $15-$20 an hour. And that difference gets worse when everyone gets the same 3% raise.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Small office, friendly co workers, relatively flexible hours, lax dress code, good location close to freeway, provides healthcare benefits but passes on cost to employee

    Cons

Management does not seem to know what people are doing or responsible for. Lack of communication between senior and asset managers, senior manager likes to scream and make emotional rants at certain individuals, pay is low and benefits minimal. Work load high. A confused place to work.

    Advice to Management

Management is not willing to develop people and appears not to value them. There is no culture or value other than to make senior management more money. Lots of turnover is not a good thing maybe problem with them

    Pros

I work at the corporate office and all of the managers have an open door policy so it very easy to speak to them when it's necessary.

    Cons

Different groups seem to act very independent and collaboration between groups don't happen.

    Advice to Management

The utilization of employees and resources needs to be improved. Newport has great employees but the company doesn't seem to invest in the correct sides of the business to help it grow.

    Pros

Technology, wide breadth of product offering, the people, IT infrastructure, decent benefits, centrally located locale, well supported human resource group,

    Cons

Long term planning execution is challenging due to the challenge of being a publicly traded company. The need to meet quarterly goals hamper the progresses in development.

    Advice to Management

Provide clear charter to each initiative with accountability and well-defined metrics

    Pros

In was a good run while it lasted. Good people / challenges and opportunities. Diverse product lines and markets that will give good exposure.

    Cons

Anything will and can happen - nothing is for sure . Co being sold the future sure it will be all said as 'wonderful / great' - but as we all know 'changes' with a buy out can be expected !
