    Pros

Ok company to work for a little while.

    Cons

Lack of leadership, lack of respect to the employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect, they are the most valuable asset on the company.

I worked at News Corp part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Few to none.... tHIS COMPANY WITH dIRECtv IS NOT A GOOD eXPERIENCE....

    Cons

As reference to their DirecTV account, the initial training is adequate. But then they dump immediately into what they call "nesting", which is live calls with what is very minimal, and inadequate support. If you fail to meet their AHT (Average Handle Times). you are let go. I do not recommend this company under any circumstances...

    Advice to Management

Remove your "nesting", and build a side-by_side program with an experienced agent. This will increase your new agent retention by an amazing amount...

I worked at News Corp (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some good people work here, particularly at the lower levels, but apart from that Rupert's Evil Empire has little to recommend it.

    Cons

    Vicious, ruthless office politics
    Smug, self-pleasuring management
Constant cost-cutting (though not, one suspects, when it comes to management salaries and perks)
    Working in a declining industry

    Advice to Management

Ask yourself - is this really how I wanted to turn out? What would my 21-year-old self make of the way I spend my days

I worked at News Corp full-time

    Pros

Good company name to have on your CV. whilst competitor company laid off staff in the GFC, News didn't and had a focus on reducing costs and not replacing staff when they left naturally.

    Cons

Low pay, does not increase pay inline with CPI, limited opportunity for growth, boys club, inability to move with the times, below par systems, treats its staff like numbers not valued employees, little to no perks.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people as assets to the business rather than simply payroll numbers, people are more willing to offer more of themselves when they feel appreciated and valued.
Pay your staff inline with comparable roles in the market. You don't attain and retain decent staff as a result of this.
I hear the company Xmas party was cancelled. That was the one huge perk the staff did have. What a way to say thanks to the people that live and breathe the News products!!

    Pros

Good exposure to carsguide, careerone, body+soul etc, creative sales role, good family feel to company

    Cons

Group based commission, team not hit target = no comp! No car allowance, poor base pay, agency ecosystem poor. Too may pointless meetings

    Advice to Management

Better commission structure, give a car allowance, career progression, it was a poor role as of 2012

I have been working at News Corp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working in the media industry is cool and working for a big company that's easily recognised is great. Cafe gym on-site. Good parking in Brisbane. Nice discounts.

    Cons

As print media continues to decline, the management has worsened and are incapable of adapting. Sometimes poisonous work environment, hiring and promoting isn't transparent and there is no hr.

    Advice to Management

Reassess people in authority positions and ensure that everything is transparent. Stop the secrecy.

    Pros

Can't think of any apart from Sydney HQ being near Central train station.

    Cons

Work their staff into the ground. Nasty culture. Only worth working if you drink Kool Aid.

    Advice to Management

Management too arrogant to take any advice.
