I worked at News Marketing Canada full-time

    Pros

No one does any work, if that's considered a pro.

    Cons

No one does any work. Nothing ever gets done. The blind leading the blind. It was like working for dumb and dumber. Frustrating work environment for anyone with half a brain.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and start acting like management.

I have been working at News Marketing Canada part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flexibility, managers are great they do the best they can

    Cons

Where to begin. changes roll out with seemingly no foresight, struggle to get tools needed for the job, low pay, seem disorganized in some ways, seems like they go through managers alot it's mentioned that they are looking for new area managers all the time.

    Advice to Management

take the time to look at all angles of a project, pay employees a better wage...minimum wage is .not the rate you really pay people you want to keep.

I worked at News Marketing Canada part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice being able to run my own schedule and fit the work around other commitments - lots of autonomy. Supervision was minimal. If the pay had been better, I would probably have stuck there longer than 4 months, because I liked the flexibility and liked my regional manager.

    Cons

I regularly didn't receive the materials or hardware I needed to complete installs. My manager left suddenly just after I started and I was left for a couple of weeks with no instructions, no materials or hardware, very little training, and therefore no way to earn money. Had to push to get what I needed. Training is really minimal, you really have to figure it out on your own, especially when not supplied with the items you have been instructed to use. Which I don't mind, but pay was barely above minimum wage, for a position that requires a lot of responsibility, trust, and initiative. Pay is also unpredictable - workload varies from week to week. And no obvious way to move up any sort of ladder. No benefits package, and unless you have loads of space in your home, your work will totally take over your living space.

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone has what they need to get their work done properly first time, instead of supplying them with only half what they need, and then nagging them about not doing it properly first time.
