    Pros

Friendly people who genuinely care about what they are doing. Everyone is passionate and has a lot of enthusiasm and creativity. Gender is a non-issue (unlike other boys club companies) For the most part, it's a positive place to work with relatively little work place drama. You get the chance to work with people from around the world and potentially have career opportunities around the world.

    Cons

Being part of large corporation means more red tape. The Baltimore corporate office can be slow to respond. Public looks down on the school because it is for-profit. Surrounding neighborhood has little parking and a lot of homeless people. In the past the company has had a lot of turn over with their employees.

    Advice to Management

The Laureate Baltimore office always seems disorganized. Way too much red tape.

    Pros

    Wonderful students, some great staff.

    Cons

Horrible lack of respect, all about the money.

    Advice to Management

Focus on being a school not a business.

I worked at Newschool of Architecture part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Gained great experience in several departments and got to know new people. Best part was interacting with the students and helping them.

    Cons

During the switch of upper management there were a lot of layoffs and resistance. Several things changed and the culture changed completely. The business grew and a quota had to be met.

    Advice to Management

Leadership should be part of the training program, not only for employees but for the students as well. Also, teamwork is another factor, synergy could strengthen the school further. This could even go further as influencing the student environment, where there is no need to compete to be accepted by the instructor.
