I worked at Newtron Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work I've worked for several years, I really enjoyed working with my family away from home, hell that's the only home i knew with my crew like sisters and brothers i done what ever it took to get my JOB done !!!! Barney Corey you're the best i miss y'all

    Cons

Sad to say everyone doesn't get treated fairly they have their picks and chooses i guess that's everywhere. I think that everyone should be treated fairly as for me being a female welder I've had my share of unfairness and fairness man i went Thur a lot to prove myself to this company.

    Advice to Management

Cherish the good people you have in this company !

I worked at Newtron Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get a lot of over-time hours and decent pay rates. It's a fast paced, stressful work environment that will really appeal to some. The name of the game in construction is to do the job with as few people as possible in order to make the most money. Consequently, individuals will be given a substantial amount of tasks and responsibilities, which also might appeal to some.

    Cons

Long hours and weekend work are both a blessing and a curse. It's good pay but hardly any work/life balance. In a lot of ways contractors are subject to the will of the client - on the job I worked, we had only a handful of weekends off for an entire year and a half and consistently worked 11+ hours a day. Also, the company didn't do a very good job of training it's employees. In a lot of ways, people were set up to fail. You get a lot of responsibilities early on and if you can handle it, everything will be fine; however, if you can't, you will be made to feel guilty for your failure though it wasn't necessarily any fault of your own.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in employee training. Sink or swim is not a viable business strategy. Respecting an employees work/life balance will help to mitigate your turn-over rate. Departmental managers need to do a better job of creating a sense of community throughout the company.

    Pros

If they followed through with their promises they'd be a good company to work for but the management makes promises they don't keep.

    Cons

Co-workers do not work as a team. Bonus amounts for employees are based on their peers reviews. As a result co-workers bad mouth each other to try to make themselves look good so their bonus is larger.

    Advice to Management

you need a new management team

I have been working at Newtron Group (More than a year)

    Pros

They screen contract electricians with aptitude tests to make sure they know their stuff, every six months you can test up for a pay raise until you reach A class. Triad also offers to pay for trade school to further electrical and instrumentation training. They provide FR uniforms to the more committed contract employees and high quality PPE for any new hires to ensure safe work. If you are in school for a non-electrical related degree they are willing to accommodate your class schedule, education in general is strongly encouraged.

    Cons

Their contractor health insurance options aren't that great. Paid time off doesn't start accruing until one year and a quarter with the company.
