I worked at NexTech Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employee recognition for those that just put their head down and do the work.

    Cons

Base salary is low for industry and product needs a total revamp to SAAS solution.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that there is competition in the industry, we were once the best, and we need to make changes to stay the best. Promote your employees from within and lean on your Product Support team more to bring in sales referrals. Establish usage reports for Account Managers to develop stronger strategies to sell.

I have been working at NexTech Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is fair. People on the entry level are friendly. Managers can be a bit disconnected from the whole process but overall agreeable, could be worse. Benefits are on par with most other companies of this size.

    Cons

A lot of promises are made that are not kept or delayed significantly (bonuses, promotions, program features). Not much attention to the needs of employees and clients. Location is visually nice but you are going to hit traffic no matter where you are driving from. Overall working at this company is a mediocre experience. I have worked in places with much better benefits and much worse.

    Advice to Management

More focus on the employee's well being will translate to better service for the clients. Too much focus on the bottom line translates to dissatisfied employees who are just here for a pay check.

    Pros

Friendly people that help you when your in a bind do exist which is good when your under trained. Location is beautiful!!

    Cons

Database platform of the software we were supporting was extremely large and training was poor at best. Managers and staff made poor decisions without regard for employees.

    Advice to Management

Training should be longer and better organized. Customers want to speak to someone knowledgeable and when that isn't the case, you eventually lose customers. Stop worrying about numbers and consider your customers and employees opinions.

    Pros

Very solid products that are feature rich and comprehensive for the specialties they serve. Employees work hard, care a lot about each other and for the customers' needs. Newer C-Level management is very capable and professional, instituting the kinds of systems and processes that are required for a small, founder controlled company that has since transitioned to a mid-size company being led by a senior management team with lots of relevant industry experience.

The company was built on a solid financial foundation to ensure it would be there for the long haul. The customer base has been loyal and has stuck with the product and the company kept improving the product.

    Cons

New C-Level suite added a layer of cost that was not there before, but this is all part of scaling the company. There has been a reasonable amount of turn over during the new management transition. The expiration of the government stimulus incentives has had an impact on new business as the EMR business is now focused on the slower to move, replacement market.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your passionate customers and employees about continued product improvements; that's where most of the good ideas originated.

    Pros

Its fun, fast paced and moving in the right direction. Lots to learn. Employees genuinely care about each other. New management team is starting to make a difference.

    Cons

Old, old management needs to go.

    Advice to Management

The new CEO has a clue how to make it successful. Do what the predecessors would do and break the old mold.

I worked at NexTech Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked for nextech for 3 years. When I left the company it was on the up. At the time they added many C-suite positions for addtional structure that have never been there before and an entire HR department which was much needed. The company started off small and grew exponentially and thus the structure to grow was not there until recently. When I left, what they were putting in place was everything that I thought needed to happen to grow. There is definately room for growth but you have to show that you are interested and show that you work hard. Basically don't expect something to happen to you just because you are a body in the crowd of many.

    Cons

Culture. There is a disconnect between upper management and lower management as far as feasibility to meet goals. Some employees became overly negative effecting the mood of the employees around them thus hurting the team as a whole. Either straighten them up or ship them out.

    Advice to Management

Some of the newer management needs to listen to the employees. Not just as it pertains to the job but also how other employees are effecting the team both in and out of their department.
