I have been working at Nexstar Digital full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It was a very social company with opportunities to get to know your colleagues.

    Cons

There are very few opportunities for growth within the company. You can move laterally but it became very clear to me that despite my background I was never going to move into a more senior role.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Nexstar Digital full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Challenging work, excellent benefits and my immediate manager is very responsive and advocates for my direct reports.

    Cons

The company decided to phase out a profit-making department, and while they've offered severance, there's not much other support. We've gone through three payroll changes in the last two months, and my contractors are in open revolt.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Nexstar Digital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    The people (except upper management)

    Cons

I started at an Internet company that was like family nearly 20 years ago. It was sold and Nexstar eventually bought it. They let our back-end technology rot and slowly strangled the company out of existence. Do not think these people care about you and the damage they do.

    I worked at Nexstar Digital

    Pros

They’re no pros to think of that are beneficial noting.

    Cons

Management, leadership (mind numbing, sharks & oblivious), toxic work environment, poor to no work-life balance, pay is comical, high attrition, too many company changes (including name changes), and workload volume. Smart people leave this company and those that stay are secretly applying for better opportunities for months.

I worked at Nexstar Digital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get exposed to a variety of projects and build your resume.

    Cons

This place was ok when I first started 4 years ago, but it has since gone downhill after the founder sold his company to Nextstar. The most recent CEO was forced to resign. High turnover. In my 3.5 years at HYFN, 20-30 people that I know of came and left. Employer has violated labor laws (look up case 31-CA-211665 on nlrb.gov) Heavy workload with little resources means employees are overworked, leading to more mistakes. Sales team over-promise and under-deliver due to limited resources and constant bugs in the platform. The entire analytics department has disappeared. Zero work balance. Most former employees I’ve talked to have PTSD. You'll work with first time managers who have no experience/formal training in being a manager…they’ve also been fired. You’re always asked to “do more” but they don't give you the tools/training or explanation to do more. Avoid this place. Live a better life and work in-house
