I have been working at Nexstar Media Group full-time

    Pros

Freedom to market as you choose, good pay, good benefits, reputation

    Cons

Inadequate training, new reps are thrown to the wolves with unreasonable expectations. To much ‘paper’work and to many meetings keep you off of the street. Forced to sell what your quota is rather than a clients needs.

I worked at Nexstar Media Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They had pretty good benefits. Insurance copays are low and they had a matching 401K. Those are the only pros in my opinion!

    Cons

Lack of communication from upper management. The controller for the accounting department severely lacks communication skills. He also values you based on how many hours your work and not by your actual contributions. He would schedule exactly when we had to work overtime wether the workflow for you roll needed overtime during those times.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Nexstar Media Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Place to get your foot into the door if you're struggling to find a job as a journalism graduate out of college - Good benefits - Understanding management, supports work/life balance

    Cons

    - First thing cut from the budget is $ to enter work into awards competitions, employee training. -Literally no coaching, professional development culture - A place where your life's passion can turn into a J-O-B pretty quickly - Brutally low pay. You don't get into TV news for the $, but c'mon - High turnover, few people in your newsroom who want to be there
