I worked at Next Step Healthcare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The residents are kind. The non-management staff are very hard working.

    Cons

Poorly staffed. Expected to do the job of 3+ positions while trying to maintain your normal job duties. Management is a joke and very clique. Constantly understaffed. CNA ratio is 15residents to one aid and one nurse for 35+ patients. Unsafe work conditions. Has roaches and mice constantly running around

    Advice to Management

All staff need to be treated equal and understand the hardships of a single parent. Your staff turnover is insanely high for a reason. Also many managers are racist.

I worked at Next Step Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Staff that are left are very good, many have left...

    Cons

Cut throat environment in regards to budget and PPD, there is NO commitment to quality--It's all about the cost of staffing (PPD) , staffing is at a substandard level per their set budget-- and as a result they have substandard outcomes at many of their facilities

I worked at Next Step Healthcare full-time

    Pros

The senior patients are wonderful. A lot of the times their family can be also, but not always. The company themselves? None! They will try to sell you a benefits package, but it’s not cheap. It’s very expensive.

    Cons

Sometimes, I felt bad for the patients because this company puts patient care at the bottom of their priority list and staff members that don’t have connections with higher up management just second to last from the bottom of their list. An example is Next Step Healthcare wanting to remove moist wipes after the patients use the bathrooms and have the aids whipe them off with wash cloths instead, so they don’t have to...

    Advice to Management

Quit all the favoritism and being so cheap. I can’t stand the hostile environment you create for hard working staff memebers, even housekeeping. We all deserve equality as respect.

I have been working at Next Step Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Very motivated and competent nurses, CNAs, and support staff; the families and patients

    Cons

Paying health insurance premiums via payroll deduction, only to find that insurance was cancelled - for nonpayment; lack of communication or compensation for unpaid medical bills; entire facility not receiving wages on time on pay day; incredibly short staffed with zero management on evenings/nights/weekends/holidays; full time leads to mandatory overtime and constant threats of mandated shifts (scheduled 40 hours, work...

    Advice to Management

Your employees and patients are how you make money; it’s imprudent and unethical to mistreat them.

I worked at Next Step Healthcare for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible schedule, friendly staff, rewarding job

    Cons

    Overworked, underpaid, just a body

    Advice to Management

Start caring more about the staff and residents, less on making a profit. You are in the wrong business if thats your main priority.

I worked at Next Step Healthcare full-time

    Pros

There aren’t any pros! Don’t don’t have any values or morals. Unless you are friends with people high up, you will discover that this company is just awful! There are sketchy people that work for this company. The worst ones are the ones in higher ranking positions.

    Cons

These people are evil. They are the worst kind of business people you will ever see. All they care about are themselves and their money. Quality patient care is at the bottom of the list. Unless you are friends with someone high up, they don’t treat the staff very well. It highly possible for you to leave your job angry and offended every day. You will be miserable and have to choose between keeping your moral code or...

    Advice to Management

You need to take some classes on proper leadership skills. Learn to inspire your team instead of draining the energy from them. Stop being so cheap at the expense of patient care and amployee satisfaction just so you can save a buck or two.
