I have been working at Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I'll give this to NLC, that cost of living here is almost negligible.
Accomodation (which is not good at all), electricity, water is provided at a very low cost.
Office hours are stable (8hrs - but this is also discussed in the con section)
    Peaceful enviornment.

    Cons

I don't know where to begin with cons.
Worst HR ever. If you are a GET and you want to leave, you'll be treated as the scum of the pond.
No work at all which equals NO career growth opportunities.
NO training or peronal development activities, no sense of team spirit.
If you are posted in Neyveli it will be like the inside of Devil's soggy pants when you reach May. The weather goes from being worse to horrible.
No city life, you can kiss that goodbye when you come here.
Some disadvantages of being a GET -
-No proper holidays because you are a GET. (Not a regular employee)
-When it comes to leaving, you are supposed to serve the notice period for full 3 months (Becasue you are a regular employee - EXECUTIVE).
    Such hypocrisy. Much wow.

    Advice to Management

Kindly improve your HR, and treat your executives as executives.
If you want to retain your workforce(new appointments), give them something tangible instead of empty promises.
NLC has great opportunities and potential, but you need to improve a lot.

I worked at Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nil work. Good food at canteen. Good benefits. Decent Salary. You won't spend anything as everything is taken care by the organization like power, rent, water, medical and education for your kids.

    Cons

You are writing away your soul for some decent monthly revenue. You will be anchored down for the rest of your life with no real learning done. One plant which may be exciting for a month but after that you will be bored to death.

    Pros

Nothing that I can think of. A few very talented group of people who toil day and night like slaves. good township with minimum facilities for leading an average family life. But the company treats their employees only as slaves - nothing more. I also have worked for this company for 10years only like a slave

    Cons

No HR, no vision from the senior management regards to develop inhouse talent. Lots of bureacracy, nepotism. Outdated senior management in the top level creates an awful working culture. They only like their sub-ordinates to follow their directions and keep greeting them with a customary salute with a raise of hand.

    Advice to Management

Needs a complete revamp. Please come of age mates. You have a long way to go to become an organised and professional management. Dont think that if you have attained Navratna means its the end of the road. Eeryone knows how much fat you are sitting with.

    Pros

    no work at all
eat and sleep. Lunch break is for 3 hoours.. You can see employees snoring in the afternoon. I have seen people falling off their chairs while sleeping. Such a job less employees.
You can see people flirting around with maids

    Cons

No growth. Promotion will come to you before you retire if u r lucky. Worst HR I have ever seen. They consider to be boss of the company. Apart from very few employees who are talented, rest are useless crap.

    Advice to Management

Kick out all the useless employees and company profits will multiply. Dont be afraid of strike.
