I worked at Ngee Ann Polytechnic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Massive flexibility in lecture style and curriculum development. My ideas were always heard by my bosses. Felt a lot of agency and encouragement as an employee.

It was hard to see the necessity of attending 100% of the meetings. Especially ones that were not related to my department and I had conflicting school-related business.

    Cons

Heavy markload, unfair to people who teach large cohorts; no holidays due to attachment and having to teach different courses with different academic calendars; the hardworking ones get more work than others because the others can talk their way out of things; Quite hard to move out of current job. Physical terrain of campus has lots of up and down, not particularly friendly to wheelchair bound

    Advice to Management

Do not listen to hearsay just because someone spends more time in your office than others.
