I have been working at Nintendo of America full-time

    Pros

Always innovative - they try to stay ahead of the "game" and compete well in the space they carved out over 130 years ago.
Opportunity - If you are motivated and eager to learn, this is a unique atmosphere that will allow you to do as much as you want and sponge as much as you can. It's a medium company that has a lot of funding options. This creates an environment that allows you to touch many technologies and experimental goods.

    Cons

The same with any company, the inflation rate of the country grows faster than one can keep up with. It is publicly traded so each increase and funding will be analysed before approvals. Lots of effort into compliance. But again, it is the same with any publicly traded company.
Also, as it is everywhere, it depends on who you work for an in which department. So, read each feedback on here with that in mind.
Retention is a thing at this company so they rarely hire full time people.

I have been working at Nintendo of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Stable company
    - Decent benefit
    - Nice colleague (at least in my department)

    Cons

    - Little to no room for growth or advancement
    - HQ in Japan has the final say of almost everything
    - A "you should make your boss look good" culture (at least in my dept)

    Advice to Management

    - I don't think anyone's advice to management will be taken seriously.

I have been working at Nintendo of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Cafe Mario is great
    Work at Nintendo!

    Cons

But not for Nintendo, because you're a contractor.
    No benefits.
    Not even an orca card.
    Awful scheduling.
    Unbelievably bad pay.

    Advice to Management

Treat your contract employees like human beings and offer them a living wage. I have coworkers on the brink of homelessness.

I have been working at Nintendo of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fun, relaxed place to work with great people who are passionate about the company
    Great work/life balance
    Work on exciting, interesting projects

    Cons

Flat organization. Promotions are pretty rare. People stay in the same role for a LONG time.
    No clear development paths.
Project Management is a mess across the organization.
No clear authority on decisions and emphasis on consensus model makes decision-making slow and grueling. Too slow to stay competitive, especially for digital business

    Advice to Management

Develop people. Value your rockstars and promote them!
