I have been working at NinthDecimal full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Leader in marketplace driven by visionary executive leadership with a strong understanding of where the market is heading short term and long term aligning the company's offerings for success; views mistakes as opportunities to be a better partner; unlimited PTO w/flexibility to manage work/life balance; supportive environment offering opportunities for young professionals as well as clear career growth paths.

    Cons

Not necessarily a con but you must be motivated by an industry that changes day to day and week to week. You must be nimble, self-driven and not be afraid to voice your opinion.

    Advice to Management

Continue the open door policy and focus on growing profitability

I worked at NinthDecimal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked at 9D for four years. It was an incredible experience. The leadership, the people, the innovation, the culture, were world class. I left for family reasons.

    Cons

Stretched on resources, but getting better.

    Cons

At times, the teams can be stretched thin. But better to be busy than not.

    Advice to Management

More employee events than include significant others and families.

    Pros

NinthDecimal is a great company to work for. The engineering team is solid, incredible talent and innovation - always pushing the edge of technology. The spirit within a company is healthy - no corporate politics, no ego collisions, everyone is helpful and working toward the same goal.

    Cons

The company has gotten used to doing more with less (this is NOT a slave shop, I am talking about perks like lunches, snacks, etc. As thing are looking bright and revenue keeps rising, lets spend some money on the perks :)

    Advice to Management

Keep driving the company and the culture, you are doing great!

I worked at NinthDecimal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Sometimes I can't tell if I'm being paid to work or have fun.

The Games: The have a game room with Xbox Kinect and Wii. We hold Kinect boxing tournaments and the winner gets a shiny trophy. There's a ping pong table in another room.

The Eats: There's a fully stocked kitchen. Most of the foods are healthy.

The De-stresers: They recently implemented an unlimited PTO policy. If you feel like going to Vegas, you go (just let your team know so they can cover for you). The pay is exempt - you are paid your full salary for the work you do, not by the hour. If you feel like sleeping in or leaving early, feel free! You're allowed to work remotely, too.

The Tradition: Whenever we have a new recruit or an employee leaving, we would go to happy hour (paid for by the company). They also have this fun initiation tradition where fresh employees get down on one knee and chug a bottle of Smirnoff Ice and take a Fernet shot. No pressure, it's meant to be fun. Opting out doesn't make you uncool.

    Cons

Difficult communication with a lot of our clients and sales team as they work in the East Coast.

    Cons

I worked at NinthDecimal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Telecommuting-friendly, ping pong on-site

    Cons

Strong negative reinforcement policies to keep you working hard, non-reimbursed travel, imminent closing of an office, indoctrination, literally too small of a budget to turn on lights in their Mountain View office, cut throat culture, spying on employees

    Advice to Management

Become more transparent, less hostile towards employees, stop using indoctrination and negative reinforcement; President and CEO are good leaders, however

I have been working at NinthDecimal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great vision and product offerings.

    Cons

Many weak links who didn't get fired. Top heavy with a lot of junior workers getting paid too much and partying too much. Good work was overlooked. Leaders played favorites based on the department head not individuals value. Lack of culture. Unlimited PTO is not a benefit. Unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to Management

Observe and really listen to employees issues. Don't take everyone at their word. 9D could be a great company but needs strong leadership and fair treatment of employees.

    I worked at NinthDecimal full-time

    Pros

Most coworkers are fun and kind

    Cons

"Unlimited PTO" just really means NO PTO for anyone with consistent deadlines.
