I worked at Nissan Forklift part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture at Nissan was really great. The management team had several initiatives to make employees happy. Each summer they have a golf league. Employees play 18 each week for 8 weeks (during work hours). At the end of the league the players with the best score wins a cash prizes. That's just one example of how upper management make line employees feel valued.

    Cons

The manufacturing jobs require a lot of skills that everyone can provide. The machines are dangerous so you have to be mindful at all times.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. I liked working there and felt respected.

    Pros

Health Benefits and 401K are good.

    Cons

They do not promote within. Compensation is not comparable to surrounding suburbs. Work/Life balance is not comparable to surrounding areas.

    Pros

Smaller Company, Co-Workers are nice. Atmosphere is very laid back. Product is somewhat exciting. Location is close to Chicago but not too far.

    Cons

No Career Advancement. Raises are minimal, Pay is below market. No Recognition if a good job is done. Sometimes Japan controls more of the design than you'd like. No Real Engineering Evaluation and testing plan.

    Pros

    Excellent company with great people.

    Cons

There is nothing really negative that I have to say. It would be challenging to find a better place to work.
