I have been working at Nissan full-time

    Pros

you have an opportunity get the newest cars through lease options.

    Cons

Nissan has a slow promotion process. Your promotion is based more on how long you have been in the company than what you know.

    Advice to Management

You are letting talent go to waste by not creating growth opportunity. It will be harder to maintain staff in the future. The youth of today want to grow and develop. Sitting still for 3-5 years will not work for them and should not work for older staff.

I worked at Nissan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, including the lease vehicle program; good people; quality product.

    Cons

Be prepared to work 2nd or 3rd shift for many years before you get to 1st shift, in addition to regular weekends and backfill days.

    Advice to Management

Provide better opportunities for advancement while getting on 1st shift; give supervisors more freedom and don't continue adding to their duties without giving them tools to succeed.

    Pros

    Pros

    Many different career paths/choices
    Diverse company
    Nice office building
    Exposure to innovative new products

    Cons

    Not enough cross-functional work
If you get stuck in purchasing you will have a very challenging time moving into other departments
Unfair treatment of contract workers (almost discriminated against) - I was not a contractor and feel this way.
Some really horrible/unethical people are in managerial roles and just get moved around if they have a bad reputation.

    Advice to Management

Provide employees more opportunities to work cross-functionally and really learn what all areas of the company do.

Don't keep people on as contractors for many years, this is how you lose talented people. If you feel that someone is not cutting it after a few months as a contractor, let them go. If they are hard working and prove them self, hire them full time.

Certain purchasing managers could use some empathy and emotional-intelligence training.

I worked at Nissan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very strong corporative culture and spirit, discount for "Nissan" and "Infinity " cars (even if not a lot, I had 10%, I know that lower level position could get only 5%, while successful person from Sales Department could get 30-35%) depend on CEO in your office, compensation on transportation expenses (for higher level of employee could be given "Nissan" car) and compensation of lunch (like it was 5$ only per day, but it was OK in location where I had been working) and cell phone compensation (absolutely no punishment for using cell phone for private calls because plan was fixed), insurance for you and 2 your family members (for family members you need to pay extra, but possible that it will deducted from your salary).

    Cons

A lot of hours extra work and if you work Finance or Accounting Departments the balance of working hours and free isn't OK ). Finance center in France which collect information from almost around the world data and because of time difference you will be always depend on them.

    Advice to Management

I like how you always respecting culture difference in every country where you work. You have policy of not buying assets as office, prefer pay rent in some areas although in some areas it could be more profitable invest money in buy office (it could be in my country).
