Pros
The people are great at Nitro. Nitro has a way of finding wonderful humans who are honest and friendly.
Cons
The disorganization of Nitro makes it difficult to be successful at your job. There is constant reshifting and nobody has clearly defined job roles. Everyone has a hand in helping each other, but no-one knows who has the final say or who is managing the projects. Many projects end up being scrapped or falling off because it is so disorganized. The leadership claims to take care of their people but you need to know that you are just a number. This company is so desperate to stand out to investors and to be a top tech company, that they do not actually support career growth. They dangle opportunities to keep great people there but don't actually foster individual growth.

Pros
Lots of decent people and a great and easy to proposition to understand.
Cons
Perhaps some more connection between strategy and execution could have made IPO transition easier.

May 26, 2020 - Sales Representative in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people are great. Great team Culture is great We have adapted to working from home very well. Benefits are very good. (Nitro pension contribution could be increased) Growing rapidly. Lots of new employees this year
Cons
Communication is something that can be improved L&D and working with employees to promote within needs to be worked on. We have seen some internal promotion or moves within the org but I think Nitro can do more on this.

Lots of opportunity for professional growth!
May 9, 2013 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A smart, ambitious team that also knows how to have fun. A great place to grow your career. Roles evolve based on company need and your goals. Appreciating employees is a big part of the culture. People work hard and are rewarded in lots of ways. Company is growing like crazy; which means lots of opportunity for everyone. A great group of really nice people. Seriously.
Cons
High performance based culture. Really a plus for the right person.

Good company, issues going on currently
Aug 18, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There are truly great people who work here- passionate, caring, enthusiastic... There is a lot of heart here. Not much micro-managing.
Cons
The Executives tend to be a bit hard-headed and unwilling to adjust. The recruiters don't seem to able to bring the best candidates for manager positions to the table- or people are just being driving out when their opinions don't line up with leadership's. A bit disorganized, but with the right people they may be able to turn it around.

Dysfunctional Leadership and Unrealistic Goals
Aug 4, 2022 - Sales RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You can always find a lot of great people at many organizations and Nitro was no different. Most individuals were friendly, respectful and pleasant to work with.
Cons
Nitro acted as if they were the next unicorn start-up, setting incredibly unrealistic revenue goals and sales targets, spending exorbitantly on miscellaneous softwares intended to support certain teams, and over-hired to support their growth that never came. This is evident in their quarterly financial reports. With a lack of on-boarding/training, existing employees were forced to take a good amount of time out of their weeks to train new employees on their teams. This is not the responsibility of existing employees and reduced the chances of success for newly hired individuals as a result. There is also a false perception of culture and leadership across the organization. Instead, new management chose to implement the idea of culture and leadership with various stipends, irrational spending on perks, a lack of support, and siloed communication systems. This left the organization in a constant state of confusion with no source of truth. The organization also began pulling the rug from underneath loyal customers by removing many features from their plans and increasing prices dramatically.
