I worked at Noah's Bagels full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Good coworkers that make the job bearable.
-Company was built around a good product.
-Good community feel in your store.

    Cons

Senior leadership is unorganized & not on the same page. Lots of changes with no regard for store operations. Short sighted changes that will hurt the company in the long run.

    -bad benefits,
no PTO until 2 years of employment
Expensive medical that is hard to use
    No matching 401k
    Very limited food discounts

    -low pay
    -very minimal holiday pay
-ALWAYS short staffed in all stores.
-stressful job due to the lack of staffing
-unable to staff due to low pay & bad benefits.
-stores are old & dirty. Lots of pest issues across CA.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back & look at why you have staffing issues. Don't use "high industry turnover" as an excuse...that's not the real issue.

I have been working at Noah's Bagels part-time

    Pros

They hire you on the spot, so if you are in serious need of a job that not only pays you, but also teaches you skills and give you experience, this is the place to apply for. You also do multiple tasks, not focused on one station, so that you become more flexible and better help the store.

    Cons

The store is pretty small and can be difficult to maneuver around with a full staff on the line. Also, sometimes, some staff simply don't show up on their assigned work schedule and you could be called to work on your off day. So prepare ahead of time and let the manager know know what day you couldn't be at work for a specific reason, like religious practice, planned vacation, appointments, and so on.

    Advice to Management

I genuinely don't have any advice. I can't critique how a manager should improve since I've never been in their shoes before. Even if some of their actions were "questionable" they still are the manager and their main focus is to maintain the business and its integrity.

I worked at Noah's Bagels part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to get a job, 1 free bagel per day, restaurants regularly close ~3pm so no late hours, relatively flexible with hours

    Cons

No free meals, low pay with no tips, early morning hours, open on holidays so don't expect days off on holidays

    Advice to Management

Should have a donation program for left over bagels each day and hire more workers at a time to lighten early morning workloads on some workers over others

    I worked at Noah's Bagels full-time

    Pros

No late nights - but this also means that your mornings will start at 2 or 3am.

    Cons

This review is for people who want to work at Noah's Bagels at these locations: Brokaw & Oakland, Milpitas, Willow Glen, Santa Clara, Los Gatos and any stores surrounding these areas... I advise you to stay away!

The Area Business Manager of that area gossips about employees that he manages. I have heard him conspire ways to get employees fired with his General and Assistant Manager who work at certain store as well. He blatantly shows favor to certain store and will treat other stores - especially their General Managers- like they are idiots.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of crooked management. Offer better pay and benefits for employees across the board to reduce turnover rate
