    Pros

The working environment and experience. Working offshore you spend more time with your coworkers than with family in many instances. Noble embodied the familial concept and embraced each employee as such. It will always be a premiere offshore company to work for.

    Cons

I had no negative experiences while employees with Noble.

    Advice to Management

Continue to maintain and improve upon the the safety first practices that allowed everyone to get home the way we left it.

I have been working at Noble Corporation full-time

    Pros

Company is super laid back, has great benefits (6% match 401k, stock plan). Work 1/2 day on Fridays.

    Cons

Where to start? Upper management has unrealistic expectations and has trouble making viable decisions on where the company is going. Most things are hush/ hush between departments with little to no communication. Performance reviews are a joke and have never been a helpful avenue even if the individual outperformed at their job. Company has serious expectations on being in the door on time and out the door on time for there are many traffic cops. Company is ran by HR...

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, trust them and their decisions and give them some room to breathe. Times are changing in the business world and it is either adopt the new flow or get out.

    Pros

Was great when Jim Day was CEO.

    Cons

Now during the downturn they tend to lay off older employees and keep the younger. Have seen it happen to many of the old timers.

    Advice to Management

Remember the guys that have been loyal !!

    Pros

Great budget and planning. Proper vision and the determination to achieve commitments.

    Cons

Micromanagement is a lifestyle. HR promises are large. Actual workload exceeds time available, no time for individual career path, all advancement happens journeyman style.

    Advice to Management

Consider the long term benefits of allowing the individuals to grow and lead Noble into tomorrow.

I worked at Noble Corporation full-time

    Pros

If you have never worked in the oilfield before, this is a great place to get the experience you need. I had awesome opportunities and gained a lot of valuable knowledge working here. Also, great people; some of the best people I know I met working here. Rotating schedule (3 weeks on, 3 weeks off in the Gulf, 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off overseas) can be both a blessing and a curse. It's like a vacation every 3 weeks

    Cons

Company crashed pretty hard along with the rest of the oilfield, company as a whole seems to be headed downhill. They halted all internal promotion and training programs, cut hourly pay, holiday pay, training pay and travel pay. Downside of the schedule is that it becomes very difficult not to spend excessively the times that you are home, you feel as if you need to take advantage of these. Very easy to get comfortable and stop progressing in any other area of life. What bugged me the most was that the company heavily practiced the "good ole boy" system, impossible to move ahead in the company without kissing the right rear-ends.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want to be left behind in today's world, you better start thinking progressively, brush up on your management and people skills, and listen to and stop micro-managing the intelligent, hard-working employees you have, because smart, educated people who are willing to do that kind of labor and put up with all the "oilfield trash" kind of personalities are a rare commodity out there.

    Pros

Great pay and bonuses when things were booming.

    Cons

There isn't a very personable relationship with the office or company. The focus on safety and accountability is great on the outside, but in reality it is just another method for the company to put blame on you if they want to - and keep people moving through the company.
