I worked at Noble Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working along side some very talented professionals. Nice exposure to the industry.

    Cons

Now that I am in the job market again, I see that the pay is not in line with others in the industry. They will promote you as far as increasing your job responsibilities and have you doing senior level duties without providing the title or pay increase. Bonuses have been dwindling due to poor share holder return. Low morale throughout.

    Advice to Management

Get back to what made this a great company. You are losing people daily. It is time to look at management and ask some tough questions. Why?

I worked at Noble Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not a horrible place to work. If you don't like your boss don't worry there will be a reorg shortly and it will change.

    Cons

A company of managers where little actual work seems to get done. Too much time and effort wasted on pie in the sky efforts when basic systems are lacking.

    Advice to Management

Look at one of the many employee surveys done and listen to what people are telling you.

I worked at Noble Energy full-time

    Pros

    Pay, benefits, vacation, volunteering opportunities

    Cons

Worked for Noble for over 6 years. Favoritism in full effect. Values a degree over knowledge and experience. Horrible environment.

    Advice to Management

Learn to value people who know what they're doing over a degree. When I have to train people above me on things they should know, you have a problem.

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

great gym, excellent cafeteria, wonderful colleagues, professional, individual contributors

    Cons

Old boys' network ...you are set if you are part of the Vastar crowd...promotions are based on politicking not on merit...they don't care how good you do your work or how loyal you have been to the company...brown-nosers get further along in the food chain then the honest ones. Performance reviews are a joke, nothing is official on paper, HR doesn't review... its all left to the managers and VPs to run the show and keep their kind.. people have left or get pushed out of the company in droves ..morale is low. don't bother with this sinking ship.

    Advice to Management

listen to your people, not those who tell you what you want to hear. you have removed good dedicated managers and replaced them with incompetent ones with no people skills.

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Individual contributors are mostly great individuals who still believe in doing the right thing and pouring their hearts into their work. Lots of great individuals on the lowest levels.

    Cons

Middle management will be the end of this company.. Good ole boy system still appears to be in place from the Vastar institution. No real employee development program. Terrible company to start a new career out of school.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to middle management. They're poisonous and creating major issues for the company

    Pros

    Co-workers are terrific, good pay.

    Cons

No regard for employees. Stupid decisions. They would waste tons of money on one project, but then save a few cents by eliminating the flavored coffee creamers in the Denver office.

    Advice to Management

    Retire

    Pros

Nice building, location and has an onsite gym

    Cons

Management bullies employees to divert the attention away from their lack of knowledge. Creates a hostile environment and rules by intimidation. The entire team is afraid of loosing their job on a daily basis. She is currently in drilling and has no business managing.

    Advice to Management

    Lawsuits

I worked at Noble Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary, bonus and time off are above average

    Cons

Old fashion male dominated management who don't understand technology and how it can transform a company (even within the IT department). Seem incapable of getting projects across the finish line on time. Lots of politics. No leadership.

    Advice to Management

Retire ......and bring in some fresh blood.
