I worked at Noble Energy full-time

    Pros

There are plenty of opportunities to work on projects, initiatives, etc if you ask the right person.
Benefits and professional support can be good, depending on your role.
The cowboy mentality of the oilfield is still alive and well, so a determined and smart employee can get a lot done if they know how to navigate the waters well.

    Cons

The company culture is fractured due to continuing mergers and acquisitions, which has led to many business units or support groups acting largely in isolation, under different sets of rules. This has led to a situation where the importance of a group or the influence of a business unit is based not on business needs but on connections and cult of personality.

    Advice to Management

Focusing more on integrating functional groups and business units, and less on rewarding individuals who say the right things or know the right people, would allow the whole company to work more effectively and efficiently.

I worked at Noble Energy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Beautiful building, safe location, competitive pay and benefits, 401k with a 6% match plus additional contributions made based on your age, gym on site, great vacation package, half day Fridays.

    Cons

Depending on where you work, advancement opportunities may not be there. There was a huge shift when Dave Stover filling Chuch Davisons shoes. The timing wasn't in Dave's favor as it was in tandem with the oil price drop. It's started to feel like a company that is focused on its shareholders at the expense of its employees. There's a lot of frustration with lack of information trickling down.

    Advice to Management

Remember who you were because Noble was and still can be a highly respected company. Energize the world and bettering people's lives included those employees who have stuck it out with you for many years.

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very nice people work there. I really like 90%+ of my coworkers.

    Cons

Management seems to lack direction; they allow people to stay in positions long after they have proven inability.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look about how you make decisions. Also look at who you promote and why you promote them.

    Pros

Intelligent, friendly people to work with
    Team environment is very supportive
    Very high tech

    Cons

Management has had a difficult time adjusting to lower oil prices and laid off many people in exploration. After all of the layoffs (3 in total). the company is still very top heavy with management.

    Pros

My experience here has been ok. I've been here for nearly 5 years and I'm in no rush to leave. The only thing that would probably pull me away would be better pay and more flexibility hours wise. That being said, I also think im fortunate enough to work with a good group of people.

As far as pros, the corporate office offers a nice gym with classes, wellness activities, etc., there's a decent cafeteria, and the building is nice. Pay seems fair but raises have been lacking, likely because of the current industry environment.

    Cons

Pay could be better. Id like to see more flexibility with regard to hours in the office. Technology makes being connected very easy without being anchored to a desk. There are some processes here that need attention. Too many workarounds and bandaids.

    Advice to Management

Embrace technology and the changing workforce. Implement processes that work for everyone and not just certain people. Pay should equal work and skill set.

    Pros

1/2 day Friday working schedules, located in Denver, good employees and colleagues, good managers

    Cons

tough keeping a job in town in the the O&G Industry these days, thankful for Noble's Denver office, there are still quite a few good ole boy antics that keep people employed and promoted in this company

    Advice to Management

Seek quality employees and re-assess some of the people who have been with the company for years, yet do not develop, improve or add value.
