I have been working at Noble Energy full-time

    Pros

Noble is good to their people.
Management is open to new ideas and encourages change.

    Cons

As with any company this size, there are inefficiencies that still need to be worked out.
Some departments have too much staff, others suffer from a lean staff.

    Advice to Management

There are a good number of excellent ideas that are rushed with poor execution. Encourage taking the time to execute with perfection. Excellent ideas plus good execution equals game changer...

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The work is interesting, people and culture are great, the company is supportive on professional development. You can take pride in their values and major projects.

    Cons

Industry is boom and bust due to vulnerability to oil and gas prices, so the company is now cutting budgets and people. Drilling operations are running 24/7 and you're on call at all hours, which gets tiresome and limits your personal life.

    Advice to Management

Provide more support and information about career progression once no longer a "Young Professional". Use your strengths to focus on finding new quality plays, not just chasing the known ones.

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice work life balance. Plenty of work to keep busy. Great benefits and a lot of community outreach opportunities.

    Cons

Sr. management is very disconnected to the mid level manager and below. Slow to make decisions.

    Advice to Management

Get more engaged...soon before the market picks up and people who don't feel appreciated jump ship.

I have been working at Noble Energy full-time

    Pros

Flexible work environment, great projects, and a sense that the company really cares about H&S, communities, and the environment. I've never worked at a place with such good community outreach.

    Cons

The reporting structure has a bit of a 'silo' structure, that can sometimes effect how information is communicated. Generally, the teams work well together, but sometimes there is a lag in communication.

    Advice to Management

Promote more cross-functional teamwork from group to group and office to office to improve communication. Additional learning sessions demonstrating what other business units are doing would also be helpful.

    Pros

This company was first class in every respect from the standpoint of my very interview up until the time I was advised, in a professional upstanding matter, that I would not be offered a renewal contract due to the decreasing price of oil. I am very grateful to have worked for this company.

    Cons

The only downside to this company simply put, and that's nothing to do with peers or management, was that the bottom fell-out in the oil & gas industry with respects to the price-per-barrel of oil.

    Advice to Management

All layers of management and respective interface department personnel were outstanding, so I have no instances of complaint. Maybe...and that's only a maybe is that management could subsidize the cafeteria food prices a little. Oh well...you can't have all of the pie...lol.
