    Pros

I loved the versatility of my position. I actually was able to work on several projects and enjoyed the work I did.

    Cons

I think Noble is growing faster than it expected. It appears they want new and young experience, which is not a bad thing but, I feel they forgot there should be a good balance between new and innovative ideas and seasoned professionals.

    Pros

    Excellent exploration success.
    Fast mover (when unimpeded externally).
    Safety culture improving.

    Cons

Poor company culture with regards to dignity and respect, personal interactions.
Old school management practices. Arrogant inner circle in the know and make decisions, not really interested in the concerns or ideas of those out of the loop.

    Advice to Management

Work to Instill a culture of basic courtesy and respect to each other.
Implement an Interpersonal Skills Training program.
Listen to the workforce on what they see and think.

    Pros

The executives at Noble are great at taking care of their own bank accounts....not so much for the company or any of the employees.

    Cons

Fact 1: At the end of 2015, shares of NBL sunk to $25 from previous highs of $75 in 2014.
Fact 2: In 2015 Noble had 2 massive layoffs
Fact 3: Dave Stover gave himself a raise of $2 million dollars from $5.3MM to $7.2MM

    Congrats Dave!

    Pros

    Great people to work with.
    A good team environment.
    High level of technical expertise.
Treat contract employees/consultants as if they are company employees.

    Cons

Management style makes it sometimes difficult for decision making.
Rapid growth of the company has had an impact on their ability to adjust to change.

    Advice to Management

Try to choose a path you believe in and follow. Constant changes and adjustments within the management team make it difficult for employees to understand and support the chosen strategies

I worked at Noble Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent salary and benefits, especially if you participated in the Vitality program.

    Cons

Dysfunctional management. No career growth opportunity unless you are willing to kiss some butt. Layoffs got rid of so many talented people and left the company with a huge amount of L2 and L3's that don't know what they're doing. Noble was once a wonderful place to work, but during the prosperous years of $100+ oil upper management wasted time and money on GAP, MTG etc. instead of working on the company from within.

    Advice to Management

Good luck! Industry word spreads fast and people don't have a positive opinion of Noble. Get rid of half the middle management. Invest in ALL of your employees and recognize the hard work that they put in by promoting top performers not just good ol' boys who kiss management butt. Don't write off the low moral as just the drop in oil prices. Things were getting VERY bad well before that. I had 6 different managers in 7 years and every performance review was different. Get a true performance standard or the nepotism will continue.

    Pros

The work is interesting, people and culture are great, the company is supportive on professional development. You can take pride in their values and major projects.

    Cons

Industry is boom and bust due to vulnerability to oil and gas prices, so the company is now cutting budgets and people. Drilling operations are running 24/7 and you're on call at all hours, which gets tiresome and limits your personal life.

    Advice to Management

Provide more support and information about career progression once no longer a "Young Professional". Use your strengths to focus on finding new quality plays, not just chasing the known ones.
