I have been working at Nokia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Environment to work in. Friendly people. They do draw a line between professional & personal life.

    Cons

Highly underpaid. 10-15% less than the average salary in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Need to pay the young workers on par with market average.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Nokia full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can literally do nothing and get paid well if you know how to be a politician

    Cons

No loyalty to hard working employees, middle to senior management only concerned with lining their pockets through bonuses paid out for headcount reduction

    Advice to Management

Avoid demotivating people through constant work place psychological abuse, threats of forced relocation, yearly restructuring, false promises. Manage your directors. They are so disconnected with individual contributors you maybas well save some money by letting them go.

I have been working at Nokia full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Global Company; strongly technology. Good brand recognition. Willing to go after new products and solutions with a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. Full line of products.

    Cons

Company is going through growing pains with merger of Alcatel-Lucent. Many locations need to be combined in order to create a unified company.

    Advice to Management

Communicate as much as possible. Many people will not feel they are part of this large company and will tend to disconnect. A clear well communicated strategy is critical

    Pros

Fantastic European based company focused on skills and culture without the overly overt, necessity of degrees and diversity requirements seen with may other U.S. based companies. Great benefits, bleeding edge product and great people.

    Cons

None. Just don't confuse HMD with actual Nokia. (Networks)

    Advice to Management

Learn from past mistakes. Keep European flavor.

    Pros

Great team, great environment. Always working with the latest technology. Team is very goal oriented and truly gets job done.

    Cons

This is not the place for just anybody. Being successful in Nokia requires dedication, hard work and every now and then also long hours.

    Advice to Management

Team is one of the best R&D teams in the world. R&D cost in US is high, but productivity and results are excellent. Keep investing in US.

International culture, team spirit and collaboration, opportunity to travel for internal purposes as well as trade shows and customer meetings. Very successful and mostly efficient management, but lots of control from mother ship

    Cons

some functions are siloed, but just due to size of company, benefits average but very good at doing the right thing for employees.
