I worked at Nokia full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fantastic European based company focused on skills and culture without the overly overt, necessity of degrees and diversity requirements seen with may other U.S. based companies. Great benefits, bleeding edge product and great people.

    Cons

None. Just don't confuse HMD with actual Nokia. (Networks)

    Advice to Management

Learn from past mistakes. Keep European flavor.

I worked at Nokia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working from home; salary was decent

    Cons

No job security; no room for growth; long hours; no good training for recent grads; workforce is on the older side, poor culture as everyone works from home

    Advice to Management

Not sure laying off recent grads/new hires is the best idea.

I worked at Nokia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits were ok, but reduced every year I was with company.

    Cons

Disjointed management had lost focus on customers. Zero potential for job growth or promotion even with extensive losses of senior staff. Company purchased competitors, but hemorrhaged talent. Sr. Management talked about values, but did opposite.

    Advice to Management

Break apart the company to unlock shareholder equity.

    Pros

Great team, great environment. Always working with the latest technology. Team is very goal oriented and truly gets job done.

    Cons

This is not the place for just anybody. Being successful in Nokia requires dedication, hard work and every now and then also long hours.

Team is one of the best R&D teams in the world. R&D cost in US is high, but productivity and results are excellent. Keep investing in US.

    Pros

Nokia is a good company to work with, as it has the quickly decision and very strong leadship team, so it is easy to top down to have the right decision and transformation very quickly. now it goes to different industry like consumer and health besides the traditional telecommunication industry.

    Cons

sometimes, it is very big with over 110,000 employees and it is hard to turn around with many sites to line up and go with. so it is behind of HUAWEI and i think it is going well if the transformation goes successfully.

    Advice to Management

Must to take quickly action to merge the f-Nokia and f-ALU together to get synergery and go to the right direction. Now the merge has benn over almost 2 years. need to be more quicker and go faster.
