I have been working at Nomac Drilling full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and compensation. People are great and job is never boring. Flexible hours. Lots of company lunches and vendor supplied breakfasts.

    Cons

Upper management is not open to new ideas and project management is borderline non-existent. The rig up yard has a fog of negativity that originates from management.

    Advice to Management

Invest some time in developing your personnel. Work on project planning techniques. Understand the concept of spend a little more now to save a lot later. Empower your employees to make decisions and learn to delegate more than just the "little stuff".

    Pros

Loved working there and great benefits.

    Cons

Office is very "cliquey" they don't talk to you if you are new to the department or not in their clique. Can't advance because manager will find a way to get you out if you try to move to different departments if it's his idea.

I worked at Nomac Drilling full-time

    Pros

Great pay, Great benefits, good safety record. Good chance of moving up within the company.

    Cons

Onsite living conditions were horrible. No internet for the roughnecks. Depending on location you might not get cell service either.

    Advice to Management

Get the guys that give your company a good name out of cramped and worn down onsite trailers. 10 guys in one trailer is unacceptable.
